Complimentary Wine Tasting Friday, Jan. 24th from 5-7pm

This week, Eamonn O’Mahoney with Touton Selections…

Eamonn will be pouring:

N/V Aubert Pere et Fils Brut Champagne

60% Pinot Noir, 30% Pinot Munier & 10% Chardonnay

Epernay, Champagne, France

Full of elegant savory aromas with hints of toast and truffles followed by a crisp palate full of orchard fruits and subtle brioche notes. A brilliant Champagne at a brilliant price. The palate shows more distinct appley characters with positive, lively acid but is not mean or bitter/tart. Nice mouthfeel and length with those pastry characters coming through softly on the finish. Punching well above its pricepoint and as good as, or better, than others at twice the price or more.

2016 Château Guiraud “Le G” Bordeaux Blanc

Sauvignon Blanc & Sémillon

Bordeaux, France

The wine's aromas leap out of the glass, led by ripe passionfruit, grapefruit and lychee. Classic Sauvignon Blanc citrus and mineral flavors stand out while the Semillon brings a honeyed note along with the ability to age. Pair with oysters, baccala, or Mediterranean dishes. A bone dry Bordeaux Blanc with brilliant acidity and minerality. An excellent match for seafood or grilled vegetables.

2016 Clos des Menuts Saint-Émilion Rouge

85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon 5% Cabernet Franc

Saint-Émilion, Bordeaux, France

At the heart of the Saint Emilion appellation, CLOS DES MENUTS is a good-keeping wine which is round and fullbodied, with delicate tannins. A very deeply colored wine. A powerful nose, very complex with notes of vanilla and toasted bread. Full on the palate the wine has a lovely structure and has good balance between the fruit of ripe grapes and the vanilla oak tannins. Aged between 12 to 18 months in French oak.

2015 Marquis De Mons Margaux

55% Merlot 36% Cabernet Sauvignon 4% Petit Verdot

Margaux, Bordeaux, France

Marquis de Mons is the second wine of the Château La Tour de Mons. It comes from the same terroir and is vinified with as much care as the Grand Vin, and the blend is similar. It uses the younger vines of the estate. Marquis de Mons' wine style exemplifies balance, with supple tannins and good aromatic expression. It is a wine to enjoy whilst young. The wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, 40% of which are new each year.

The discount passcode this week is a trivia question, *back due to increased demand*

Three of tonight's wines are from Bordeaux, which is known for (amazing wine) and river cruises. If one were to take a cruise to the top of the Bordeaux region, on what river (really an estuary) would the boat be?
